The Hulk is a fictional character, a superhero that appeared in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The Hulk was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The Hulk is cast as the emotional and impulsive alter ego of the withdrawn and reserved physicist Dr. Bruce Banner. Dr Banner accidentally exposes himself to a blast of a test detonation of a gamma bomb he invented. When banner gets upset he then transforms into the Hulk, depicted as a giant, raging, humanoid monster, this causes many complications in Banners life.
The Hulk is an unusual "superhero" character, in that during most of the character's history, Bruce Banner has had little control over his monstrous alter ego. During those relatively rare periods when Bruce Banner's full intellect and personality has been manifest within the Hulk, the character has acted more like a traditional superhero. But usually, the Hulk's behavior is less predictable and less typical of "super-heroes."
